Mental Health Programmes

Telos provides programmes on topical issues which give both individual practitioners as well as teams a practical toolkit as well as access to knowledge in an enjoyable and supportive learning environment.

Topics for 2007 included:

‘All our business’ – Working together to promote Social Inclusion.

Social Inclusion, alongside a focus on the recovery model, has taken an increasingly high profile in mental health services in recent years. Combating stigma, promoting vocational services and community integration are all important aspects of social inclusion but these concepts can all too easily remain the focus of the policy maker rather than the practitioner.

Telos believes that Mental Health staff need a clear and accessible framework as well as outcome measures which will enable practitioners from different disciplines to identify and value their achievements in the area of social inclusion. Telos programs are relevant for a range of practitioners, including staff involved in:

  • Community Mental Health Teams
  • Specialist teams, e.g. Assertive Outreach and Early Intervention Teams
  • Day Service Teams – including the statutory or third sector
  • Support, Time and Recovery Work roles
  • Approved Social Worker Training Programs
  • Ward teams
  • Rehabilitation Teams

There a number of options depending on your requirements, ranging from whole team training, through to working with a group of ‘champions’ from a variety of backgrounds together with users and carers who wish to take this agenda forward.
